Prof. Harbaugh Brings Wealth of Legal Experience to AIPR

American Innovators for Patent Reform (AIPR), a trade association representing the innovation community, has added Joseph Harbaugh, a prominent law professor and Dean Emeritus of the Nova Southeastern University Law School to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Harbaugh has served in a wide range of legal education leadership positions with the Association of American Law Schools and the American Bar Association. A Fulbright Commission Specialist in Negotiation and Mediation, Professor Harbaugh conducts negotiation workshops for lawyers, business people and government officials, and he advises and leads negotiation teams for law firms and businesses.

"We are very pleased to welcome Prof. Harbaugh to our Board of Directors," comments Alexander Poltorak, founder and President of American Innovators for Patent Reform. "We look forward to his leadership as we endeavor to reinvigorate the American patent system."

Mr. Harbaugh served as Chief Counsel to the Pennsylvania Senate Judiciary Committee from 1978 to 1985. He is a member of the District of Columbia, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars. He also is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for DC, Connecticut and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC and Second Circuits, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University and an LL.B. from the University of Pittsburgh.

"I am delighted to join the board of AIPR - the voice of the American innovation community," says Mr. Harbaugh. "Today, there are forces at work to deny to inventors and those who support their creative efforts, the legal protections required to foster American innovation. AIPR will continue to play an important role at this critical moment."
